For more than 20 years, Shane and Tracey Blum have helped shape the Lubbock restaurant and bar scene, creating locally owned establishments known for quality food, handcrafted drinks, and genuine West Texas hospitality. It all started with The Gas Light in 2005, where their experience and passion for hospitality established a distinctive gathering place in Lubbock.

Since then, Shane and Tracey have added Lantern Tavern and Candle Bar to their family of locally owned Lubbock restaurants, each with its own atmosphere and personality. Fittingly, all three call Slide Road home.

Today, The Gas Light is a Lubbock destination for handcrafted cocktails, specialty martinis, whiskey, a full food menu, live music, and late nights with friends. Guests can settle in at the bar, enjoy dinner and drinks, or unwind outside on the deck overlooking the playa lake. The Gas Light is also a smoking-permitted establishment, offering a traditional smoking-friendly bar atmosphere while making that distinction clear for non-smoking guests before they visit.

Tracey's career in hospitality took root at Texas Tech University, where she earned her degree in Restaurant, Hotel, and Institutional Management in 2002. She then spent more than five years serving as Food & Beverage Director at Carillon Senior Living before turning her focus to restaurant ownership in Lubbock.

Shane has dedicated his professional career to Texas Tech University, where he has served since 1998 and currently holds the position of Associate Chair of the Department of Hospitality and Retail Management. His work educating the next generation of hospitality professionals, combined with the couple's decades of hands-on restaurant ownership, has influenced the service, atmosphere, and attention to detail guests have come to expect at The Gas Light.
